All was well organized from the booking to the tour organization. We had a great experience exploring the culture, history & foods. All done with great Cambodian hospitality. The hotels were exceptional. We finally ended up in a beautiful seaside resort island. Thanks for the program. We highly recommend this efficient & reliable agency.
It's hard to put into words how amazing this trip was. From the accommodations, service, food, and daily activities/excursions, everything was outstanding – not to mention our wonderful guides who were all knowledgeable, authentic and friendly.
Even before we left, the level of professionalism and attention to detail exhibited by our Indochina Tour advisors, Amara and Kea, made me confident that this would be a really good trip.... but even with the bar set high, this trip far exceeded all our expectations still.
I would 100% consider using IndochinaTour.com for planning another trip in the region, and highly recommend them to anyone else who is considering one.
We had such a truly amazing time in Cambodia and Thailand with the private tour Indochina Tours planned for us..we decided we needed to go to Vietnam next year with the help of Indochina tours.
Ivy Wu who worked with me endlessly to plan the itinerary and especially Helen Chhour, the in-country contact in Cambodia, were simply stellar in their customer service and knowledge of the country and so willing to make changes due to some last minute health issues of my husband, changing our tours to private when needed to accomodate his problems walking and securing better seating and kid glove service on our flights. Simply superb.
We loved the tour guides and drivers in Cambodia and Thailand (especially Chen Suon in Cambodia...he was wonderful and kind in dealing with Eric's issues, but also warm and friendly and knowledgable in so many ways).
Just stellar all round.
One of the best organized tours we have done as a group ! Well thought out, great sightseeing, good English speaking guides, good clean restaurants and good food even for some of us vegetarians.
We have just returned from a wonderful trip to Vietnam and Cambodia. Indochina were excellent from start to finish. Sreypov was able to put together the perfect itinerary for us - responding and adapting very quickly during the planning stages.
Kea gave us great support in organising everything during the lead up to the trip. Our guides and drivers in Ho Chi Minh, the Mekong, Phnom Penh and Siem Reap were all excellent. We had the perfect balance of culture, history, beach time and great food.
My granddaughter and I traveled to Siem Reep, Cambodia for 3 nights on a private tour. My agents were Ms. Maiky and Ms. Kea. Ms. Maiky recommended some great options and listened to what I wanted. Our hotel was wonderful, the Koulen Central Hotel and we had wonderful breakfasts there included. We witnessed the grandeur of sunrise at Angkor Wat, multiple temples there, a countryside jeep tour, traveled to Tonle Sap Lake and visited a floating village. We inadvertently witnessed a local funeral and two weddings. We received an amazing massage after a full tour day in the nicest spa I have ever been to. Incredibly tranquil and soothing. Our guide, Mr. Socheat, knew everything about the places we visited and answered all our questions. It was a very full itinerary and that is what I asked for.
We then traveled to Thailand for 7 nights. The first 3 nights were in Bangkok at the Amara Bangkok Hotel, very modern and efficient property, also with a full buffet breakfast included. Our guide there was Ms. Ketsara and she was wonderful; very down to earth, lighthearted, and flexible with our itinerary. She came up with things to do that weren't on the original itinerary that we really enjoyed. We took a private motorboat tour on the Chao Praya River and passed temples along the way. Our favorite visit was to the Grand Palace and riding by tuk-tuk to the famous Reclining Buddha. One morning we drove to the train market and the floating market, both highly recommended.
We then flew to Chiang Mai in northern Thailand which had a completely different vibe and some intense spiritual energy. Our hotel there was the Boddhi Serene Boutique Hotel, which, after Bangkok felt like it could use a fresh coat of paint and deep clean, but it was a beautiful, peaceful property. We were there when the 7.7 earthquake hit nearby in Myanmar. The hotel staff was calm and efficient. It was an intense experience and we're grateful we were there at the time instead of almost anywhere else. We spent our days walking into town and checking out the sites.
We then flew to Phuket and stayed at the Burasari Phuket Resort. I didn't schedule full days in either Chiang Mai or Phuket as we were eager for some down time. We did do a full day tour by speedboat to Phi Phi Island and other smaller islands in the area. We snorkeled and swam and it was pleasant but a little too touristy for me. My 20-year-old granddaughter would have loved another day in Phuket and Bangkok.
All our hotels were good and our guides were good. The agents I booked with responded efficiently to any questions I had. I recommend travel with Indo-China Tours. They know the area and respond well to all requests.
I worked with Ivy at Indochina Tour to create a custom itinerary. I sent her the specific sights that I was particularly interested in and ones that I wanted to leave out and she curated that to a trip that we loved.
The guides and hotels were great. The one criticism I had with Indochina Tour is that after we booked the trip, the operations person that was responsible for the tour logistics would not respond to my emails and texts for a long time. This deficiency in communication was frustrating.
Amazing private trip put together by IndoChina in all aspects, organized brilliantly and professionally by Pheakdey and Kea.
Everything was taken care of for us, including private tours, private driver and car, local food experiences and most importantly amazing professional tour guides - especially Nan our tour guide for Bangkok she went out of her way to make our trip unforgetable.
Highly recommend IndoChina as your agent for South East Asia - great service and best prices as well (no rip-offs).

With pleasant weather, mild temperatures, and clear skies, these months are perfect for outdoor activities, such as hiking, cycling, sightseeing, etc. These months also coincide with major holidays like China’s Golden Week (first week of October). At that time, many locals had domestic travel, leading to crowded attractions and higher prices. Despite the crowds, this is the best time to visit iconic sites in China.
The cost would be higher than other season
Popular tourist attractions are crowded
Avoid the first week of October

But it also means fewer tourists, which allows for a more relaxed travel experience in popular tourist attractions. On the other hand, summer is the hottest and most humid time of the year, particularly in southern cities. However, summer offers a chance to avoid the large crowds and take cost-effective travel.

If you decide to tip, doing so discreetly and offering cash in a red envelope (hongbao) can be seen as a more culturally appropriate way to show appreciation. More details about tipping in China.
